Chapter 4
Internal Revenue Service
Joe leaned on his elbows with his head in his hands. The afternoon was quiet, too quiet. The afternoon was long, lonely, uneventful, boring and sad. He wondered if he would ever find his past and try to live a normal life. It was at this moment, Joe had either another lucky break, or a very unlucky break. Diane walked into the store.
Diane finally made it back to Hope. She parked and got out and literally charged towards the van. If he messed with her equipment, she will just be able to get it set up, then have to tear it down for the weekend. As She walked, she raised her hand and gave Kurt the finger, but actually hoping he hadn’t turned her scope to watch her. “Who am I kidding, he sees me right now” and then she gave him the finger again.
Kurt smiled broadly and waited to open the door for her. He was actually surprised that she was angry with him for monkeying with her stuff. Have you been working at all today she scolded. Hey, hey, hey, where you been? I’ve been here all day! He replied, “the question should be had you done any work today?” Diane angrily explained that she had been at headquarters all morning. Did you have fun? He asked. “Yeah, real fun, you should take the sensitivity class like I just did!” she quipped, “Hand me that laptop!” “Since you screwed up my stuff I’ll have to go out on my own here and get something done.” Diane took the laptop and threw it down. She opened it and it started up, so she threw it again harder. This time it didn’t make a peep. “Good” she said, “open the door and be sure to keep the cameras running,” “you can do that right?” “Sure thing Doll” he replied thinking “boy she sure is a bitch today.”
