Chapter 3
Internal Revenue Service
I was a long walk to the yard, but it was a beautiful sunny day. Jimbo waved from a distance. Jimbo had been hoping Joe visited today. He had a lot to show him and he had some stuff only Joe could fix for him. He rushed up and shook Joe’s hand “Good to see you” he barked, “got a lot of stuff to show you!”
Jimbo’s fingers felt big in his hand, He was wearing three pairs of gloves today, probably picking out things for me, he didn’t like to do that but he wanted to be ready with some stuff in case I came by.
How’s the computer repair shop coming along, Jimbo asked? Great, Joe replied, actually quite great. Had a real pretty girl for a customer yesterday, can’t get her out of my mind! Well, that is good news Joe! You really need to get out more, meet new people, have a life for gosh sake.” And what about you, said Joe! Oh, I have my times, and of course nights, not to worry about me Joe, I’m getting by just fine! I mean settling down, getting married, having kids! Exclaimed Joe. Wait a minute there, Joe, I love my work, don’t need no mother hen telling me what to do all the time. Ha, ha, ha, ha, they both laughed together. They went on smiling, talking and laughing for hours as Joe fumbled and caressed the many electronic items Jimbo had gathered.
As it got late, they parted and Joe headed off for his room. He always stayed overnight as Jimbo had left everything like it was when he worked here. Joe had fixed it up real nice and when he finally went to bed, it felt a lot like being home.
