Chapter 4
Smith and Wesson
Diane readied herself for bed, as she left the bathroom, she looked at her new dress hanging in her bedroom doorway. She could see her dress hanging there from almost anywhere in the apartment and she had glanced at it often. Every time she saw it, she thought of Joe. He really was nice she thought to herself. And she caressed the fabric as she walked by and got into bed. She was looking at her new dress when she drifted off to sleep.
Joe went into his store and quickly slipped into the office without turning on the lights. He sat the jewelry box down next to his bed. He went to his bench and started a few of the computers that were due to be picked up Monday, especially Dianne’s. It started just fine, all of them did. Some started up faster than expected. He got into bed and picked up the music box. He played it over and over, lulling himself to sleep. “I hope the opportunity comes up to give it to her,” he thought, “I think she will really like it.”
