Chapter 4
Smith and Wesson
Diane’s weekend passed in a blur. Cleaning and rearranging, she tackled the whole apartment with new found energy. She had just finished hanging the new drapes she had bought when she purchased her new dress, and she sat down for a rest. She picked up the novel she had been reading then tossed it down thinking, “No, not today! I’m not reading about someone else’s romance today! It’s my turn!  She went into the kitchen and made a cup of tea, then carried it to the bay window seat. She sat there peering out into the sunshine carefully watching the people visiting the park. “Yes” she thought, “It’s my turn”
Saturday afternoon, Joe closed the shop and headed for the bus station. Jimbo hadn’t ever come to visit him at the shop but he had gone to the recycling depot almost every other week to visit Jimbo. The bus ride wasn’t long and Joe enjoyed it, staring out the window, everything flew past in a blur except one sign, Hypnosis, remember your past, and it was gone. It had hit him slowly, and by the time Joe realized it might be important, he was almost to the scrap yard. Where exactly did I see that sign, he thought? Did it say what I thought it said?
